Summer In Vancouver

We’re having great weather in Vancouver these last few weeks and even I’m trying to enjoy it every now and then. There’s a lot going on at work including getting ready for a couple large new projects and chasing up some interesting new business in Europe, the U.S. and Asia all at the same time.

Needless to say posting has been light although as a friend reminded me recently I am still ‘full of opinions’ (or maybe I’m full of something else?)

My cousin from Waterloo and his wife are also visiting this week. I’ve been able to get to know him better over the last couple years when I was in Toronto on work. It’s been great to catch up and hopefully they’ve been able to relax a bit too. I finally got to hear the story of how my cousin also came to be awarded a Medal of Bravery from the Canadian Governor General. The full story is here, see the citation for ‘Constable Kevin James McCarthy’. Amazing story and the citation doesn’t fully articulate the darkness of a smoke filled old house ablaze at three in the morning. Amazing.
