What Is Clarity

Should I Just Give You The Company?

“I love reviewing standard form contracts from vendors and service providers because they can exbihit sublime creativity in favouring the provider over the buyer, often completely out of whack with the commercial realities of the deal. This one-sided drafting approach must be somewhat successful because I suspect (actually, I know) that many people don’t actually read contemplated contracts carefully (or at all), much less have their company’s legal counsel review them.”

From Marty’s new blog, boilerplate, which is “Dedicated to elegant drafting in contracts: plain English, clarity, legal precision, appropriate risk allocation and commercial sense”. An interesting read…especially for those you like me…who don’t tend to read contracts ;) .
