Another Adapter
In London again and (again) I forgot my power adapter for the laptop. No big deal - as I can give the new one I had to buy to one of the many new mac users back at work. We decided to check out the new Apple Store on Regent Street in London. The empty pictures on the Apple site don’t do it justice - on a Tuesday mid-afternoon - the store was absolutely packed and the cash registers were ringing. There were tons of helpful staff, tons of energy and a free course going on right in the middle of the store on how to use Garageband. It looked like several people had their powerbooks open just to make use of the wifi as opposed to buying anything, but I’m sure like me, they succumbed to a new accessory. Until recently when I found a regular contact for buying macs in Vancouver I’d found the process of shopping for an Apple thoroughly unpleasant… almost like all computers. They are changing computer retailing (and maybe adding some new ideas to regular retailing as well). Just plain nice.
I found this photo on Flickr from the original store opening - and it was as busy as this today.
It was literally, the church of Apple. Do I resent all the new converts
