I Don’t Feel Like It

I feel like I should blog…but never seem to. I guess sometimes it’s because there’s not enough time (or I tell myself that) to write something that I think is worth writing down…a bad excuse - as if feeling I have to do any of this is a good idea.

I’m on the road again…New York, Philadelphia and London. I haven’t been to New York in awhile…some random thoughts from this trip:

I hate the heat/humidity combination…I’m a sweater as it is. Not sure I need the weathers help with soaking my shirts.

I almost got hustled twice in New York, once at the airport by an unlicensed cabby (who had a rather official looking guy poaching guys like me at the curb) and then at the subway while a guy with a badge no less was willing to swipe me in for less than fare…next to the fare guy in his bullet proof cubicle. Annoying and a bit surprising for this supposedly cleaned up city. They’re bigger issues I’m sure but I can tell a lot about a city from the quality of the cabbing experience.

I got to visit one of the temples of my tech life…the New York Apples Store which on a Wednesday night at 11:30 was as busy as a nightclub. Great elevator.

I was surprised at how cool (and nice downtown) Philadelphia is. I even got to run up the Rocky steps.

Weather wreaks havoc on flights in the north eastern US, a fact I’d forgotten before I missed my Toronto connection to London.

Late at night I got to see NBC, some art (courtesy of a McDonald’s fortune), and Times Square.

See you in London…later than expected.
