Optimism Is Essential
I wish I could write more about what being an entrepreneur is like. One day maybe…especially lately with so much going on in our business. I know I’ve been accused many times of being too optimistic, and admittedly the truth is somewhere in between, but for me it always came down to the realization that if you weren’t optimistic about your chances of success, and ability to work through problems you wouldn’t be able to get up in the morning (especially in the tech business over the last six years).
This interesting interview with Jeff Bezos in Inc. reminded me of this again. He says…
“I believe that optimism is an essential quality for doing anything hard–entrepreneurial endeavors or anything else.”
and… “Entrepreneurship is really more about a state of mind than it is about working for yourself. It’s about being resourceful, it’s about problem solving. If you meet people who seem like really good problem solvers, step back, and you’ll see that they are self-reliant.”
Just get out of bed.
